GOAL Provides Emergency Training to William Way Staff

On October 20th, members of GOAL provided emergency preparedness training to the staff of the William Way Center in Center City. Leading this vital training session was GOAL member and Paramedic Craig Hall, who was joined by fellow GOAL members EMT Ed Callahan and EMT and Police Sergeant Nicholas Tees. This comprehensive 4-hour training aimed to empower participants with the skills and knowledge needed to respond effectively to life-threatening emergencies until professional Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrive on the scene.
GOAL Donates Items to National Museum for Pride Exhibit

Members of the Gay Officers Action League (GOAL) serving in the Philadelphia Police Department made contributions to the virtual exhibit of the National Law Enforcement Museum's Pride Behind the Badge Exhibit. This exhibition, which delves into the history and experiences of LGBTQIA+ law enforcement professionals, spans from the 1960s to the present day. By submitting pictures and pins, the GOAL members have added valuable content that highlights their community's involvement and contributions to the field.
Fighting Stigma and Honoring Danté M. Austin

A group of local police officers and other public safety professionals aren't only fighting crime, and aiding the public, but they're also fighting against the stigma of being out in the public safety space. Meet the Gay Officers Action League of Greater Philadelphia (G.O.A.L.). Their building bridges through community outreach, which now includes the Danté M. Austin Memorial Scholarship, in honor of a founding member of the organization who passed away in 2019.

Presenters from the First Responder Program at Penn Medicine Princeton Health shared their expertise on stress management, coping skills, and self-care strategies for first responders.
