About the event
Who: This event is open to any first responder/emergency services personnel in the greater Philadelphia area. This includes but is not limited to firefighters, EMS professionals, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, and military personnel.
Note for Philadelphia Police Department Staff: For Philadelphia Police Department personnel (sworn or civilian) this training will count as your tour of duty. Please make sure to complete ALL information on the registration page so that you can be properly identified and your command notified.
Note for Non-PPD City of Philadelphia Staff Interested: If you are interested in attending this training, please obtain permission from your supervisor if this day/time is during your regular tour of duty. If you need additional information to justify your attendance at this training feel free to contact Sgt. Nicholas Tees at nicholas.tees@phila.gov.
What: This training is for first responders interested in serving as a peer resiliency contact within the first responder community or your agency. You will learn how to recognize those in a crisis, how to assist as a peer, and how to direct individuals to the appropriate professional services and resources.
This training will be conducted by members of the First Responder Treatment Team at Penn Medicine Princeton House Behavioral Health in partnership with Greater Philadelphia GOAL. The program model at Princeton House provides confidential professional assistance for mental health and substance use issues.
