On Saturday, July 23rd, GOAL joined the Philadelphia Office of LGBT Affairs, GALAEI, Radiance Medical Group, ALLY Wellness, and the Kimmel Cultural Center in sponsoring the Free People Summer Vibes Block Party. The party, which was held at the William Way LGBT Community Center, was a celebration of Trans Joy.
The event featured entertainment, food, vendors, and multiple LGBTQ+ organizations. GOAL was on hand to educate attendees about what Philly GOAL members contribute to our community, provide instruction on “Hands Only CPR,” teach Stop the Bleed Skills, and distribute NARCAN. While dealing with a medical emergency or traumatic injury is nothing people want to think about at an event celebrating joy, the attendees that stopped by our booth were truly thankful and appreciative of GOAL’s commitment to the safety of our LGBTQ+ community. GOAL distributed several dozen NARCAN overdose kits along with CPR kits.
